These systematisation documents carried out by San Juan in Ecuador allow to approach certain activities carried out by the foundation to accompany children with special needs.

The aim of the documents are :

“Psychomotricity as a Therapeutic Tool”.

– To explain the usefulness of psychomotricity as a therapeutic tool in the different areas of the Foundation Centro San Juan de Jerusalén.
– To describe the benefits of psychomotor skills in the development of children in the pre-school stage.
– To present psychomotor activities for each therapeutic area.

“Swallowing alterations in cerebral palsy”.

– To explain feeding and swallowing processes in children with cerebral palsy.
– To raise awareness of the importance of using appropriate techniques for feeding a child with cerebral palsy.
– To explain the process of decontraction and correct positioning of a child with cerebral palsy, before, during and after feeding.
– To share the experience of the professionals of the San JuAN of Jerusalem Centre Foundation in the management of feeding children with cerebral palsy.

“Virtual Open House: We are San Juan”.

– To provide information on the services offered by the San Juan of Jerusalem Foundation.
– To show in a visual way the activities carried out in each area of the Foundation.
– To show the institutional organisation and the physical spaces.
– To show the transdisciplinary, integral and inclusive work of the Foundation.

These capitalization documents were produced by San Juan in Ecuador, and are addressed to educators and parents on the implications for education of the learning difficulties of children with disabilities. The documents take particular account of COVID-19.

Objectives of the documents :

“Neurofunctions in school performance”.

-To demonstrate the importance of neurofunctions during early childhood and their relation to the structuring of literacy and numeracy through a transdisciplinary intervention.
-To describe clear and practical procedures for the stimulation of the development of neurofunctions.
-To explain the methodology of the pedagogical corners with a focus on neurofunctions.

“Pedagogical orientation in early education during quarantine”.

– Explain the importance of early education in children, for the development of skills necessary for learning.
– To provide pedagogical strategies for the management of virtual classrooms in times of pandemic.
– Describe the importance of emotional education in the family and the need for the expression of emotions and feelings.

“Development of basic skills for the writing process”.

– Describe the basic skills for the acquisition of writing and their development.
– Explain the importance of adequate stimulation for the writing process.
– Recommend play activities for the stimulation of writing through play.

“Techniques for language development 0-3 years”.

– To explain the normal development of language in children from 0-3 years of age.
– To explain techniques for language stimulation in children from 0-3 years of age.

“Being a teacher and who thinks about me?”

– Support teachers to take time for themselves, to express themselves, to share with others in their work, in this time of pandemic where the participation of teachers in online education has been fundamental.
– Provide stress management strategies such as breathing, relaxation and manual work.

These capitalisation documents take up the information given by the San Juan member in Ecuador, and are aimed at parents (and professionals) on the role of the family in supporting a child with a disability. The documents take particular account of COVID-19 and suggest activities and routines to be carried out at home.

Objectives of the documents:

“Role of the family and the child with learning difficulties and/or disability”.

– To provide information on the medical management of a child with a disability during confinement.
– To explain therapeutic intervention through teletherapy and the importance of routines.
– To guide parents on managing the behaviour of children with and without disabilities and the family during confinement.

“My child, my mirror”, “Boundaries, containment in crisis”.

– To make parents aware of the crucial influence of their personality and their way of raising on the integral development of their children.
– To reflect on how boundaries and routines are one of the most important foundations for the safe growth of children and adolescents.

SYNTHESIS SUPPORT GROUP

– To provide a virtual and interactive space where parents can share their experiences, feeling the trust and support of others.
– Discover internal tools that allow them to strengthen themselves to continue parenting as resilient beings.
