SARD- Right to protection

Location- Sabjipur, Qazipura village, Chakkar Ki milak, Fakeerpura slum and District Vikas Bhawan Moradabad.

SARD is working with different communities and slums to enable them to make child friendly and protective space. For promoting right to protection against child trafficking, abuse, exclusion and labor, the week from 14th to 20th November 2022 was observed as United Nation’s convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) week in Moradabad slums and rural area of state Uttar Pradesh.

A Walkathon in Sabjipur and Qazipura villages was organized involving approximate 110 children, parents, teachers, community members and likeminded people shouting slogan and displaying placard. The drawings were made by children on the theme “Child protection our responsibility”.

In Chakkar Ki Milak including Fakeerpura slum approximate 80 children participated :

1- A dance by children on the theme “dream of children”

2- Hand on Hand activity for children depicting “With one hand the child has rights and at the other hand comes the duty or responsibility” imprinting both hands on a paper and writing inside them

3- Showed a short movie on corporal punishment and child abuse

4- Fun games as the children have right to entertain

A culmination event held involving over 80 children and stakeholders on 18th November 2022 as united nation general assembly designates this day “WORLD DAY FOR PREVENTION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE“.

1- Displaying the drawings, imprinted Hand on Hand papers, Placard

2- District child welfare committee, Police, anti human trafficking officer interacted with children for protection issues and disseminating the all in one helpline number 112

3- A signature with key message campaign by duty bearer

4- A step up walk involving shouting slogan and displaying placard by children, district child welfare committee, Police, anti-human trafficking squad, Childline and SARD staff and likeminded duty bearer.
